Staff & Leadership.

Senior Pastor/ Elder, Joseph Pjecha.  Pastor Joseph comes to Faith Alliance Church having served as an Associate and Solo Pastor in three previous churches in Pennsylvania in the past twenty-four years. He is married to Marnie and they have three children Susanna, Jonathan, and Nathanael. Both Joseph and Marnie were born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. Joseph studied Pastoral Ministries at Fort Wayne Bible College. Marnie graduated from Edinboro University with a degree in Elementary Education. She has taught 2nd grade for the last eleven years at a Christian school in Meadville. Concerning ministry Pastor Joseph writes, “I find the greatest joy in seeing people connect with the Lord through His Word and find salvation in Jesus Christ by faith. It is my privilege to come alongside and grow with God's people in becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. This is best summarized in the statement 'To know Christ and to make Him known' (Philippians 3:10 and Matthew 28:19-20). I am excited to be a part of the work God is doing in the Roanoke Valley. On the personal side, I enjoy spending time with my wife and family. I like to read, cook, shop for groceries, watch old movies and comedies, play table games and visit with friends.”

Associate Pastor/Elder, Pete Dunker. Pete has been Associate Pastor at Faith Alliance since 2001. He graduated from Wheaton College and Dallas Theological Seminary. He is married to his wonderful wife, April and they are blessed with three young boys: Jonah, Josiah, and Joshua. Pete oversees the Nursery through College Age, with an emphasis in Youth. Plus, he helps with other pastoral areas. Pete says  about ministry, “We pray for, inspire, and teach our young people to draw near to and heart-fully, follow Christ. We strive to equip them to develop their gifts and to serve.”  Pete’s favorite verse is one of dependence of Christ and His strength: Philippians 4:13 “I can do all everything through Him who gives me strength." Pete’s hobbies include playing and watching sports and taking walks or going on adventures with his family.

Director of Music, Sharon Gibson. Sharon has worked with the music/worship ministries of Faith Alliance Church for about 17 years using her training from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois.  She and her husband, Peery, both native Roanokers, have been married 33 years.  They are the parents of two adult children – Jonathan, 28, a salesman lives in Michigan, and Allison, 24, a behavior therapist with autistic children, resides in Roanoke with her husband Chad.  The children of Israel formed one of the first choirs as they sang the Song of Moses in Exodus 15:1-18.  I am privileged to have the same opportunity to serve with others as we proclaim through music our God is “majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, and working wonders”.   Musical styles and tastes may change, but God demands and deserves our  highest praise as He alone is worthy.  Through the gift of music we can join together, young and old, and  in one unified voice share the message of God’s love and salvation.   Just imagine doing that throughout eternity!  “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!” (Psalm 150:6)

Administrative Assistant, Tammy Lackey. Tammy has worked as Faith Alliance Church’s Administrative Assistant for about 20 years. She and her husband, Mark, have been married for 28 years. Mark is wonderful vegetable gardener! Together they have two children—Chloe, 24, teaches English to 1st graders in Vietnam; and Isaiah,18, attends VWCC. Tammy has attended FAC since she was 16 years old and considers it “family”! Her favorite thing about FAC is the sound, biblical teaching and emphasis on world missions. She participates in the music ministries of the church and will lead a year-long ladies’ Sunday School Class beginning in December. In her spare time she enjoys making and sending hand-crafted cards, exercise and nutrition, taking steel drum lessons, reading, and growing things in her yard that are difficult to kill due to neglect! Her favorite verse (at the moment): Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” John 4:13-14, NLT

In addition to the staff, Faith Alliance Church is led by a plurality of elders and deacons.  These biblical offices found in Scripture (1 Timothy 3, Acts 6) carry out their responsibilities in the following way:

               a. Providing congregational spiritual oversight and care

               b. Developing theological vision and direction for church ministry.
